BOARD CERTIFIED IN CRIMINAL LAW. Jerry Berry has continuously been Board Certified in Criminal Law since 1987. Very few Criminal Defense Attorneys are Board Certified in Criminal Law. To be Board Certified in Criminal Law, an attorney must handle at least twenty-five criminal cases and try at least twenty cases to verdict. The lawyer must also have passed a written examination on Criminal Law. A lawyer is required to continue trying cases to verdict and take Continuing Legal Education courses, in order to maintain their Board certification.
